They profiled me!

The last time I went to the movies, they demanded documentation that I had met the requirements for admission.  I was really offended, because they had profiled me, I think it was either because of the way I looked, or because they just assumed I was someone who was trying to sneak in.  I can't prove it, I just know it.  It's just like the Nazis in WW2! It's inhumane, discriminatory, and just plain cruel, that's what it is!

Imagine my humiliation when they asked me to show proof that I was legit, right in front of my wife.  The racist, profiling bastards!  That was really below the belt. On top of that, The Man at the concession stand wanted me to pay for all the stuff I wanted.  I thought this was a free country!

I think EVERYONE ought to be able to go to the theatre anytime they want, without ANY requirements whatsoever.  And if the usher catches them after they already sneaked in, they should be allowed to stay as long as they want.

And as far as their "rules" are concerned, I say, screw 'em, because nobody ever even explained their "rules"  and "laws" to me.  I'm puttin' my feet up on the seats for the whole damn show.

... and know when to fold 'em

... and know when to fold 'em
by Kelly Grant, April 13, 2010

When it becomes obvious he has chosen an unwise gamble, a wise gambler will cut his losses so that he will survive to gamble another day.  As the song goes, "know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em".

The citizens of the U.S. have gambled on a basically unknown quantity, electing a MYSTERY MAN to the highest office of the greatest and most powerful nation on Earth: The Presidency of the United States of America.  In very short order, this foolish gamble is not only bankrupting the country, it is costing our freedoms and rapidly bringing into question before the rest of the world the very wisdom and judgment of the American People.

While virtually all accomplished or hopeful leaders proudly tout their background history, education, experiences, core values, associations and accomplishments as proof of their qualifications and motives, Barack Hussein Obama has chosen to have nearly ALL information pertaining to the above in his past SEALED, UNAVAILABLE or HIDDEN from public knowledge.

Most politicians, when soliciting public support to achieve election, will be either willingly or unwillingly subjected to having their backgrounds intensely scrutinized to the smallest detail, either for commendation or condemnation.  For example, John McCain's birth records were investigated in great detail by a specially appointed Congressional Committee to determine whether or not he was "No person except a natural born Citizen", which is the first requirement stated by the United States Constitution for one's eligibility to become President of the United States of America.

No such investigation was ever made or even voted upon for Barack Obama.  As a matter of fact, over 1.5 million dollars in legal expenses has been paid on behalf of Obama to date, for the purpose of keeping those records concealed from any public knowledge.  Why would one person go to such lengths and expense to hide this information, if the information would confirm his eligibility and put an end to all the speculation, suspicion, and claims concerning his citizenship? Just confirming his citizenship would have garnered him many more votes in the 2008 Presidential election.  Why risk losing such an important election over a matter that could be so easily settled?

Similarly, his educational records are virtually unknown, because his records are sealed from discovery.  Would anyone who wanted to promote, or even just communicate their actual background and viewpoints go to these lengths to CONCEAL them?

When people have such a breakdown in communications between themselves, it is often said that they have a DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP.

Maybe he received the majority of votes from an electorate who simply projected their wishful hopes for a change onto a blank canvas.  Obama's campaign was largely and cleverly based on vague and general statements and claims that could be easily interpreted in several ways or attributed universally to various beliefs, with plenty of flexibility.  The rare glimpses into clues of his actual plans lay couched in statements like, "In 5 days we will fundamentally transform America".  In other words, changing the most basic and essential components and/or principles of the form of government that millions have fought and died to protect, and that has set us apart from the rest of the world since our beginning.

He is as bold about ridiculing or demonizing anyone making allegations against him as he is in hiding what he wants to keep secret.  He will proclaim amazement at anyone who would call him a socialist, including Putin, even in the midst of nationalizing or gaining governmental control of entire sections of our economy, such as automobile manufacturing, finance, and health care.  He is so boldly open and repetitive about misstating the truth that millions of the oblivious electorate still do not suspect him of lying.  Touting transparency in government while secretly collaborating with his like-minded appointees to make the fundamental changes.  Those who would collectively demonstrate their concern about the direction of the country are written off as an angry mob or tea-bagging racists.  Those who would question his citizenship based on a lack of proof are radical birthers.

At the current rate of this fundamental transformation, the November 2010 elections may realistically be our last chance to begin to regain what we have lost.  Let there be no doubt that this is the most important election since the birth of our republic.  "We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." - Abraham Lincoln

Goodbye, Mr. Steele

Thomas Sowell has hit the nail on the head in his March 17, 2009 post, "The Republican Civil War.  In particular:
"Steele has since apologized to Rush but you cannot unring the bell.
More important, the mindset it betrays is at the heart of many of the problems of the Republican Party, going back for years, long before Michael Steele appeared on the scene.
There has long been an element of the Republican Party that has felt a need to distance themselves from people who stand up for conservative principles…"
What Sowell didn't mention was Steele's prochoice statements to GQ.  If Mr. Steele is going to remain a Catholic, he should at least refrain from endorsing in public this central issue to which his church is opposed.  By doing so, he places himself in the same category as Pelosi and Kerry.  He has again tried to talk himself out of responsibility for his comments, but, again, the bell cannot be unrung.
Pursuing Republican unity at any cost was already attempted with the John McCain nomination.  If we keep Mr. Steele as Chairman, just to look "unified", we are travelling down that same path to failure.  Sure, it will "look bad", but who are we worried about looking bad to?  No one but liberals, wishy-washy moderates and RINOs.
I always liked Michael Steele as a contributor to Fox News.  He has an engaging personality, and I'm always encouraged when I see more black Republicans in GOP positions.  But the fact that his non-conservative personal convictions flow so freely and unexpectedly from his mouth in the presence of liberals is reason enough to replace him.  We can't continue with this mindset that we need to sound more like liberals to get them to "like" us.
Our country is ready for a Revolution that Michael Steele is not ready for, and is incapable of leading.  Why?  Because it is a revolution that takes place in the heart and mind, and Mr. Steele just isn't there yet.

"The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments of their duties and obligations ... This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people, was the real American Revolution." - President John Adams
